Home Health Aide Class Information

Classes Offered in Green Bay and Oshkosh

Career opportunities abound in the health care field and available positions are increasing every day. Home Health Aides play an important role in the provision of health care services and the need for their skills is growing tremendously.

Home Health Aides help people with their personal care needs including:  bathing, bathroom assistance, dressing, eating, repositioning, and other important areas.  Aides also check vital signs such as pulse, respirations, temperature, etc. and record readings. Equipment knowledge and maintenance, medical record keeping, and cleaning skills may also be required.  .

Upon finishing the Clarity Care Home Health Aide training, students receive certificates of completion, which qualify them to take the Wisconsin Nurse Aide competency exam. With successful exam results, they are qualified to work as nursing assistants or home health aides in hospitals, nursing homes, home care and other health care agencies.

• Clarity Care offers a 120 hour training program, with 80 hours of classroom    time and 40 hours of clinical experience.
   

• Our program includes classroom, skills training, and a clinical component  with specific levels of competency that need to be achieved in each area.
   

• Topics include:

  First Aid/ CPR/ AED Standard Precautions Introduction to Role of HHA Aging/ Disorders/ Dementia Vital Signs/ Intake and Output/ Mobility Skills Nutrition Personal Care Skills Mechanical Lifts/ ROM/ Catheter Care Home Safety/ Documentation Resident Rights Recognizing and Responding to Challenging Behaviors

• $575 Class Fee (Includes Background Check and First Aid Certificate)

• $12 for TB test

• Testing is $115
