Description

This course focuses on how to keep everyone safe when an individual’s behavior is escalating beyond a level of control. Students will learn how to recognize escalating behaviors, techniques to intervene and diffuse such behavior, and how to escape from it if need be. Additional topics covered include stress management techniques, personal separation from consumer behavior, and hands-on practice in distancing oneself from a potentially dangerous situation. Students will learn information regarding the basic food plate and nutritional needs of individuals. This course covers the correct procedures for food preparation and safe handling, as well as the effect certain foods can have on the healing process. Additional topics covered include food allergies, modified diets, food texture, food appearance and caloric intake.
