Description

In the Resident Rights course, students will learn about Federal and State rules and regulations as they apply to residents. Course content includes: Right to send and receive mail, to prompt and adequate treatment, to constitutional rights, and to have choices. Many caregivers aren?t aware that by ‘protecting’ individuals they are often violating their rights. This course will teach caregivers how to follow resident rights while still providing quality care. The Developmental Disabilities/Traumatic Brain Injury course is recommended for caregivers who care for individuals with autism, mental health disorders, traumatic brain injuries, schizophrenia, anti-social behavior and other related disabilities. Students will learn how each condition progresses, the effect it can have on the individual over the course of time, what to expect as a caregiver, and how the care of these individuals differs from other types of care.
